Summer plans?

Anyone out there has big plans for the summer or thinking about some? If so what are they? :)

Lets talk about it.

Does anyone ever think about how fascinating memory is? We rely on memory so heavily that its nearly impossible to live without it. Our very survival depends on our ability to remember who we are, who others are, what is safe..the list goes on. Its importance can't be understood. People often believe that what they remember is absolute and true. It is quite disturbing to think that what we remember are in fact false. Many of our memories are completely wrong and yet we hold onto them dearly. We are so sure of what we remember.. we know what happened to us.. where we have been.. what someone has done.. or do we?

What do you think? do you believe memory is complete and true? or do you believe that it is not?

Quote of the day.

It is strange how we hold on to the pieces of the past while we wait for our futures.

What would you do?

There is a media group that are taking applicants who are willing to take a one way trip to mars and live there for the rest of their lives. The upside is they would be the first humans to colonize it and the downside is they will face possible radiation, no growable food, cramped quarters, and no way to come back to earth. There are over 10,000 emails sent to this media group from normal people who are interested. They are seeking six groups of four normal people who while be trained and sent off in 2022.

What do you think about this?

Would you be willing to live on mars? if so why? What would you take with you?

Quote of the day.

"If we cut up beasts simply because they cannot prevent us and because we are backing our own side in the struggle for existence, it is only logical to cut up imbeciles, criminals, enemies, or capitalists for the same reasons." - C.S. Lewis

What are your views?

Do you agree or disagree with the use of surveillance cameras in public areas for the use to identify criminals? and why do you agree or disagree?

The difference.

Today's post I want to discuss the difference between being racist and stereotypes. Lets first talk about the definitions of these two words.

1.) Racist- a person with a prejudice belief that one race is superior than the other.

2.) Stereotypes- a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.

See the difference? Being racist means that a person believes that one race is better than the other based off of their color. Also the person may hate a certain race because of another races color. Stereotypes are ideas of certain types of people and things. Some examples are "White people can't jump" or "Black people can't Swim." Its been proven that 60% of Stereotypes are based on facts. That is not saying that all white people can't jump or all black people can't swim. Its saying that the majority cannot. Also its not only white and black people but its all races that are involved in this.

Here is another example. Lets say two men are walking on the same sidewalk but are walking towards one another. Both of them could be different races or the same but one of them looks rough, sorta like a thug. Upon spotting the rough looking man the other man walks across the street to the other sidewalk to avoid coming into close proximity of the rough looking man. The man avoiding the other could be considered racist but also he could be stereotyping the rough man. It all depends on weather or not you know what the man's thoughts were and his actions. If someone looks like a thug, walks like a thug, brings off a vibe like one, and it doesn't matter about race, isn't it logical to avoid that person?  I say it is logical because what if that person is a thug and he plans on hurting you. Would you want to figure out the hard way and risk getting hurt or worse?

The reason I post this is because I hear all the time that someone is considered racist because of their actions or words. When really all they are doing is stereotyping. Stereotyping can be just as bad but it also can help just like the example I typed up about the two men on the sidewalk. Take time to analyze what someone says or does because you may be assuming someone is racist when their not.

Be strong when the waves of life come crashing down on you.

Every now and then life likes to throw us in the deep end and watch us drown. We tend to find ourselves in overwhelming situations that we don't know how to deal with. It could be a death of someone or it could be something like having fear that you don't live up to your expectations. In this post I want to give you a few ideas to deal with struggles in life.

First thing I want to state is that pain, struggles, and hardships are inevitable. Nobody escapes these things in life. Some may appear to deal with more than others. Don't let this depress you , but let it inspire you. You might be asking How can that inspire you? Well its easy. Knowing that you will experience suffering is a cause for hope because, you know you have a chance to prepare for it. People who prepared are never as badly affected as those who are not. Like I said struggles are inevitable so make sure your preparation is just as inevitable.

Realize that your hardships make you a better person.

If you want to learn how to deal with life then you need to realize the opportunities you have in the struggles to grow as a person. You can prove to yourself that you have the will power and the strength of character. As time goes by people will notice how you are still moving on with life despite what you are going through or have been through.

Life's crashing waves won't last forever.

Nothing last forever. That is a Great truth in this universe that can apply to everything. As depressing as it sounds its also a relief. Next time you are struggling you can remind yourself it won't last. No matter how bad things seem now, the crashing waves are impermanent.

Realize you are not alone.

Though we often deny it, we are not the only one going through a particular hardship. Of course someone else's problems may be a little different from yours or may even be worst. When you open up the fact that you are not alone you get a boost of powerful reality strength. Even if you haven't known anyone to go through what you have been through, just knowing that someone somewhere is out there who is just like you really makes you feel better. Another thing to think about is that thousands of people may have been through what you are currently going through and have made it out the other end. If they can do it who says you can't?

I hoped this really helped someone here. As always leave your comments in the comment section below! :)

To all who bother to read my weekend was Great!! :) I was able to spend time with my Girlfriend and friends Saturday night. Me and my Girlfriend did not go to prom because we find it to be overrated and there are other reasons that I don't feel like explaining. Instead we just went out to eat with our friends who were going to prom. I honestly don't feel like I missed out on anything that actually matters. I am glad that I got to wear my white button down, bow-tie, and khakis. Here is a Picture of us! She looks so Beautiful :)

So How was your weekend and what did you do?

Future goals

There are so many things I want to do when I'm an adult. I know all of us want to have freedom from our parents. Even though its quite exciting to be so close from graduating and being on our own its also terrifying! Exciting? Terrifying? how can both of those words be used in the same sentence? I ask myself that question all the time. I also ask myself if I'm really ready to grow up. You might be wondering "Chris what is so bad about being an adult and doesn't growing up equal freedom?" The answer to that question is both yes and no. Yes because you get freedom away from your parental figures and No because you have more responsibilities as an adult. Sorry but you don't have as much freedom as most of you believe.Honestly when we were little kids most of us didn't have so many responsibilities. My childhood was different, but I won't get into all of that. So enough of me blabbering about this and time to get to the point. My future goals are as follows:

1.) I want be in the national honors society.

2.) I want to have a high GPA when I graduate.

3.) I want to go to a good community college my first two years of my education while having a part time job, and a really Good University my second two years.

4.) I want get accepted to a Great medical school (Preferably ECU Medical school or UNC Medical) to study to become a Radiation Oncologist, Radiologist, or Anesthesiologist.

5.) I want to be able to pay all of my college funds debt free.

6.) I want to work at one of the Best hospitals in the Raleigh-Durham area.

7.) I want to be the best at my career.

8.) I want to have my own personal music and art studio.

9.) I want to continue being in a Relationship with my Girlfriend and marry her. <3

10.) I want to raise a family how a family should be raised.

11.) I want to travel the world.

more will be added to this list as I get older.

To: all of those who are setting high goals just like me.

Throw away what naysayers say, and start a race for yourself. Prove them wrong. Turn what people say to you into motivation and you will prevail.
